I've been thinking about a 2 inch lift with bigger tires on my Tundra.I had both
on my Tacoma and it looked awesome, but it changed the way the truck handled.
Should I lift it or leave it...

Some people do it for the looks I guess? or off roading? I mean the look is OK but I think it changes the way it drives and it handles? And I am very particular about that. Like the way my 21 drives right now is like butter and I wouldn't change anything about or sacrifice it just for a cool look? On my 13 I have the KO2 tires but on my 21 I am all stock and I will absolutely not change anything about it. Keep it simple I guess is my take on my 21.

my truck and buggy. Thanks for your input!

Would you get new wheels or use the stock wheels?

Reason I asked, if you were going to keep your stock wheels I would’ve said no. They look good on your truck currently but look a bit too “luxurious” with big tires. Also, I really don’t like lifted trucks with the stock offset. Makes the truck look too tall and imbalanced. In my opinion, a 2”-3” lift needs atleast 34” tires, on a 17” or 18” wheel and a +25 offset or less to look good.

Even just changing your tires to around 295/70-18 makes a huge difference.

Here's a little picture lesson through stages.

    All stock-

    IMG_4273.jpg

Just 295/70-18 Ridge Grapplers. Still 100% stock suspension, +60 offset on TRD Pro wheels-

    IMG_4456.jpg

Level at 1.5" lift in the front with same 295/70-18 Ridge Grapplers-

And how it sits today, 2.5" lift in the front, 1.75" in the rear, +25 offset wheels, 315/70-18 ( listed as 35.6"x 12.4") tires.

Any rub or experience to pass on? Because I will do the same with wildpeaks.

Edit- would like to keep things stock for now if possible.

With just the 295/70-18 on stock suspension, I removed the front little mudflaps. I also have an aftermarket front skid plate. And of course, the wheels were stock +60 offset.
I'm assuming that's what setup you are inquiring about?

I think putting on a slightly aggressive tire in a size up that your truck can fit without a lift would look great. I've ran the cooper AT3 4s in the past and has great street manners and looked a little tough. Easy dirt roads they were fantastic.

I would stay if you have to ask about the handling, then leave it stock.

You can actually gain in the handling if you choose the correct parts.

Swap the stock UCA to correct the caster when lifting and you won't have that 'wandering' steering feeling post lift.

Yeah the uca is the biggest need. Its a 100% must have when you lift otherwise the handling is terrible
