Originally had the front two windows tinted 20% to match the back and windshield 50%. Took it back and had them do 20% over the back and back sides to make it 5% and remove the 20% and do 13% on the front. While it was there I had them throw on the tundra inlays on the tailgate. 76% heat rejection ceramic all around. I'd love to go darker in the rear but my wife drives the truck sometimes and I don't want it too dark where she can't see at night.

I would get pulled over every 5 feet with that here, lol

you don't have to go dark to get UV block, mine is like 99.9 and its no where near that dark, more like 35-50

In KC, MO you can go as dark as you want in the rear, front windows is 35%. I drove around without any issues with windshield 50% and 20% all around.

It's not as dark as it looks from the inside.

To each their own, law enforcement issue aside, that really messes with your visibility at night.

I understand I don't have to go dark for UV block. The rear was done dark at 5% mainly so my infant son and daughter don't have to deal with the sun blinding them.

For sure, that's why I didn't go darker.

The 50% on the windshield isn't too bad at all at night.

I've done such things before, never again.
Significantly hindered night driving! And I was no where near as dark as you went.
I won't even open the can in regards to legality, being stopped by LE and tickets. :spending:

    Alot of them
The rest of the windows is what makes the windshield look darker.

I did something similar to mine a few months back. Had 20% on front doors to match. Decided I needed more tint.

15% over the back window and back doors. Making it 5%. 15% on front doors. And 5% windshield brow, since full windshield tint be annoying to deal with cause we have inspection and emission sticker every year.
Having the digital rear view mirror makes it nice. It’s almost like night vision at night. Don’t have to worry about how dark tint in back windows are. The Fiancé loves the UV and heat rejection.

Driver’s side window just looks darker than most, I can’t believe Kansas does not have a law about tinted windows after the windshield? Good luck I reckon and be safe.

If you come to Texas budget for a ticket or two. :)

Meh, cops here in Louisiana don't give a rat's ass about tint. We have enough murdering and drug trafficking to keep them busier with other things.

I had a federal judge neighbor once...he told me if ever hassled about tint, just tell them it is for your safety. When asked why cop cars always have super dark tint, they'll say "for their safety.". Same applies to us lowly civilians.

    Who are you hiding from?
51 years old. Never added tint to a vehicle.
I have two neighbours who have heavily tinted vehicles. I can’t even tell when they’re in their trucks, so I don’t even wave. It’s ridiculous.
As a two wheel rider I hate approaching an intersection where the first cross traffic vehicle has a heavily tinted driver’s side window. Normally I watch their front tire and where they’re looking, to make sure they don’t end up pulling out in front of me. If I can’t even tell if someone is in the vehicle I’m stuck staring at their front tires to watch for the creep.

15% over 20% is more like 3%. My back windows were 20% from the factory on my 24.

Even with the windshield tinted I thought about a 5% brow but I figured that would be just too much. We have an inspection as well in Missouri but only after 150k miles.

For sure, the digital rear view mirror is nice. I drove around in the dark last night and only where there are no street lights and other vehicles did the rear windows look pretty dark. At that time it doesn't matter as I'm not using them. Only time it'd be a minor issue is backing up a trailer or something in the dark which most of the time at that point I can use the digital mirror and/or roll all windows down.

You can go as dark as you want in the rear windows in Missouri. At least the county I'm in.

Go figure Texas is strict with laws.
