Hauled away a 16’ cattle panel today. I had three of them in my bed like this, but the wife decided we could only use two.
    IMG_4608.jpg
This is the short bed solution to long items. Just haul them vertically and/or fold them in half :notsure:

    Yes Sir.
I really like your idea and I did get those flat pieces you got but I returned them and I went went the Fanaue ones because they are smaller in comparison.

Thank you for sharing your idea. I was late finding it but glad i did!
I’m not sure if I will get a radar detector now but this opens so many other possibilities

yea I’d say it’s worth it. Can feel the difference in throttle response/ acceleration.
Can only imagine how much more different it feels on the even larger TB’s.

Been a busy few weeks, finally got around to adding some small mods.

    1. Grip tape door sill protectors. Followed this write-up. $10 for two sheets from a local skateshop. Able to get three 3" strips from one sheet.
    2. The handy chalk bag water bottle holder, seen here. Used the same brand from Etsy, StaticClimbing. The owner recommended various mods and I chose nylon liner, smaller loops and patch on back. Lots of cool colors but I went with the waxed canvas in "Bone" which is a decent match for my beige leather.
    3. Hopefully the first of many mileage milestone stickers free from Toyota. Not sure where I'm going to put it yet.
    4. Painted my wheel caps and got them installed. Not perfect but can't really tell. Painted one screw gold just cuz.
    5. Fell deep into the bed cover rabbit hole, and after too much debate I settled on a rolling soft top for now. This Tyger T1 soft roll-up had decent reviews, free shipping and a 20% off coupon if you sign up for their newsletter. Went on really easy, I like the quality of the parts, except the foam weatherstripping it came with was pinched and has a couple spots where water could leak in. But it made it to Dallas, and of course Buc-ee's, through rain and our stuff in the bed was dry.
    6. Not sure what I'd call this. Permanent crab-walk? I thought the truck was moonwalking off the highway.

I recently put the cap back on for camping season and installed some much needed chunky Rokblokz to protect the rear wheels and paint from rock chips from these stone chucker tires. I’m kinda liking the rally-esque vibe they give off as well.

Just removed the Moto Fab lift with a 1.5 rear block. and installed 3.5" Rough Country lift with 2" rear block. Love it. Now I need new tires...! Thinking maybe 295/70R 18.

Truck almost wouldn't start today, was fine last time I drove it two days ago. Battery was an OE Toyota 27F battery with no date sticker, so I'll just assume it was original to the truck (2019 built late 2018, I'm owner #2). Swapped in a Costco battery in the parking lot during my lunch break.

Also ordered duck canvas fabric and a snap tool so I can make my own window covers for the cap. Time to do arts and crafts!

Recent photo after driving up and over the pass on the Million Dollar Highway in Colorado last month.

Thanks! Yes these are the XLs. They work for me since the wheels are 0 offset but if you’re running higher offset wheels then I’d probably go with the regulars. They stick out past the tires a little even on my setup.

The easiest method is with 2 people. Each person grabs a side and walks it off the back. Each person has to be able to handle about 100 lbs. The bigger problem is storage and keeping it protected when not installed. I recently built this contraption that works decent for both storage and makes it possible (with some struggling) for me to put it on and off by myself. 2 boards span across the top, and from inside the bed I lift just the front or back at one time with my shoulders and slide the board under. I then do the same on the other end and it’s suspended and I can drive the truck out from under it.

I was thinking about the storage also. Wonder if it's easier to get a bed rack and then take it off and disassemble it to put away for the next year. I have a bed cover now because of the AUX battery in the bed.

You may consider a softopper as well. They’re pretty awesome and go up and down quickly, or can be totally removed or installed in minutes. They may lack the same level of waterproofing and security for locking up items though.

That looks pretty sweet. I was looking at the lower bed racks. Ugh now may have to rethink everything. Really wish the wife was on board with a gofast camper. Would solve all my problems.

Found the HVAC issue. Completely my fault. Wiring caught in the exposed gears. What a stupid design. Hopefully when I get the panels back on, it all works and I didn't permanently damage anything.
