    My arrived yesterday via UPS.
Was trying to install it this morning in the company's parking garage, but of course, I left my bag of parts on the table when I was heading out (I leave at 630a or prior to that, brain has not fully been function most times...forgetting parts is small, I have repeatedly forgot my wallet and DL....)
Did have to trim the bottom piece of the garnish a bit for it to fit, now just waiting to get home to install the bolts and make it complete.....

Now, that extra piece of garnish, might need to put it on sale, as well as the extra handle. Any takers?

Plan to install soon but want to use metric hardware so I don't mix and match - I believe I'm looking for an M6-1.0-40 nut + washer and a M6-1.0 extruded U nut. They didn't jump out to me at Lowes so will search online.

I used a M6-1.0x30mm without any issues and you should be able to find the M6-1.0 U Nut / Speed Nut at Advanced Auto or AutoZone. Buy the Bolt and Washer at Lowes to save a couple bucks.

I do not believe they are available in Black, but I may be wrong. I thought they were only available in Grey or Tan.

That's mostly correct, Toyota parts OEM would only have what they originally produced, which is tan and grey/light grey.

So got mine installed completed late yesterday, so far looks nice and did the job getting my old ass into the truck. Granted, it may not look too smooth, honestly, it is not completely in the line of sight, so I'm cool with it.
Worth every penny that was spent on this mod.

Looks like your fastener covers need to be pushed down more. They kind of slid into place from one end then push down.

Yea, I can see that, tried to do that after I took the pictures but it was darker (before sunrise and in a multiple story parking garage) so I will attempt that later this afternoon.

Thanks @1lowlife I figured as much it is a 3G product but the Toyota Parts website is anything but helpful on tying to figure out what it is for....
I will be listing them for sell, at a loss to me of course, I simply don't need a 3G product.

I finally got mine installed. Had the same issue I’ve seen others on here have, the new piece pushed up on the headliner and made a gap between the headliner and the weather stripping. I put some foam behind it (also something I saw on here), but I need to put another piece up there as I can still see the gap.IMG_3279.jpg IMG_3281.jpg

I ordered the parts from Fred Anderson Toyota. I received the package today and I got no bolt, washer, or clip. Wtf? Is that how it is? That’s a $175 ho move.

Correct, those parts are not included and that has been addressed multiple times in this thread. Not sure how you were surprised. Sorry though. The hardware can be picked up at local hardware and is not much.

I honestly just skimmed the threads to find out who had the parts. Then I watched the YouTube videos and was tripping because I had no hardware. Thanks for the help. My bad Fred Anderson Toyota.

Yeah, strange as nobody up to this point reported this gap? Many installs I see to have it but I guess folks don't care? I wonder what part of the plastic geometry forces this behavior? Either, it way looks like putting some foam behind the headliner to push it toward the gasket is a good enough fix. Looks good by the way, if not perfect :)

As noted above and multiple other posts the hardware is not included. You can use SAE or Metric. I chose to use metric to match the rest of the truck.
Why did it cost $175? If you ordered during the sale it should have been $144

I went the lazy route and bought SAE hardware for $1.60, but oddly enough, my 11mm socket fit the bolt tighter than any SAE socket. :notsure:

I am pretty sure once the crazy work is behind me I will start seeing everything with OCD and be like, this and that is out of place..... As long as the handle doesn't fall out getting my 215 lbs ass up there, I am cool with it.

Got mine in this morning. It went so quickly, I forgot to take pics of the steps. For the cutout relief for the dash wires, after marking where it needed to be, I used a 13mm drill at the top, then tin snips to cut to the 13mm hole. I did the 275 lbs paracord wrap last night, sitting on the sofa, while watching Netflix. For the bottom handle, I used a M6 u-nut with a M6 x 40mm flange bolt. I put an M8 washer under the flange. This M8 washer has approx. the same OD as the
captive washer of the top handle factory bolt. The only issue I ran into is the headliner at the top of the garnish, near the windshield (see third pic., below). All was perfect until I got the top bolt finger tight, and saw the dimple in the headliner. I loosened the bolt, and the dimple popped back out. Tightened the bolt again, and the dimple returned. I went ahead and tightened both bolts, snapped the covers into place, then used a sewing needle to gently coax the dimple back out. My OCD is now okay, unless it pops back in. I may take the whole thing down and stick some foam under that spot if it does. o_O

    20240503_115735.jpg
    20240503_111323.jpg

Edit: I don't have a discernible gap, nor dimple, on the other side, the weather strip side, of the garnish.

Yep, 40mm works. I think 35mm will too, but I had lots of 40mm and only one 35mm in my stash, so I saved it. I've got a few extra M6 u-nuts. PM me your address and I'll mail you one. They are around $8 for a pack of 10 on Amazon.

 Well, I had quite a few of those, too. Didn't think to try.
