Has anyone measured both the stock ride height for the two-wheel drive versus four-wheel drive? I want to order a platinum and would prefer it as low as possible to make it easier to get my motorcycle in and out of the bed. I'm wondering if there is any benefit in ordering the two-wheel drive version or if it will be the same ride height as the four.

Here’s one solution for you. Have to order the truck with rear air suspension.

If the Gen 3’s are anything like the Gen 2’s in regards to 2wd vs 4wd ride height, the difference would be mostly negligible on a stock truck comparing same trims. You should be able to look up the specs on Toyota’s site? It’s not like the tacomas that have a 4 or 5” ride height difference from going spring under 2wd and spring over 4wd.

I have the SOS lowering kit on my 21 tundra. The install wasn't bad but I don't want to have to do it if there is a lower model from the factory.

My 3rd Gen 1794 has air and you can lower the rear from the dash. I am sure it would be low enough. 3rd Gens sit WAY lower than 2nd

My 2nd gen I would launch my boat and would be fine, my 3rd gen.....bumper is in the water...exhaust bumbling away

Are you saying you paid extra for the auto leveling air suspension? Or is it height adjustable because of the active suspension? I had a LX470 with the adjustable height suspension and I could drop it or raise it depending on what I was trying to accomplish.

So is it the adaptive variable suspension that lets you adjust the height or is that the auto air leveling? In my Lexus the AVS is just how firm the shocks are. The AHC was a separate switch. I honestly don't like the complication of variable suspension. Too expensive/complicated if I keep the truck long-term.

it all depends what options, trd suspension (almost levelled in the front), trd susp with 3" factory lift, or black stock coilovers and cv axles and shocks (big front droop)

I like the way you think. While 95% of guys want to lift their trucks to commute on the highway (and there’s nothing wrong with doing that), you go against the grain and want to buy a truck that will work best for actual hauling.

I can’t help you with the differences between a 2x and a 4x, but my friend bought a brand new 2wd Colorado and promptly lowered it 3”. It’s totally awesome for loading and unloading motorcycles!

I didn’t spend the money to just swap out stuff.
Bro is really trying to give up the value of 4x4 transmission for ease of motorcycle loading.

It doesn't snow where I live. No need for 4wd. My previous truck before the tundra was a Tacoma xrunner. And I load my motorcycle a lot. I do track days all summer long.
