    If it makes anyone feel better i found this on my wife’s 2020 4runner (60k miles) rear garnish today. Apparently a known issue on these…

    I thought “JaPaNeSe MaDe ToYoTa’s aRe MaDe BeTtEr” smh :annoyed:

    clearly out of factory bumper to bumper range but ill see if my local dealer will hear me out.

    Dealer repainted my tailgate and installed additional spacers to the tail spoiler so it no longer makes contact with painted surface.

    For those that had this issues fixed, how is your fix holding up?

    For those that have yet to have it fixed but have reported it to their dealer, what has been there response?

    Anyone else discover the paint getting rubbed off their tailgate?

    Will there eventually be a TSB/TCI for this issue?

    @ryanwgregg is there a ‘special team’ at TMMTX working on this issue?

    TRD wheels, skid plate, black fender flares, mud flaps and running boards. Pirelli Scorpion 275/70/20 Allterrain Plus tires
    I took mine in last week for this problem. They offered to repaint it which I declined. They said Toyota has not issued a TSB on it at this point in time. So I’m documented and waiting at this point. I may start a formal request with Toyota to see if that helps create a permanent repair. In the meantime I plan to put something between the panel and tailgate to slow the wear.
